Love That Design sat down with Dawood Ali Mirza, Business Head, along with Zalique Jayah and Kimberley D’Souza from the Business Development team, to uncover how Office Solutions has carved its reputation as one of the region’s most trusted partners in commercial flooring. From filling a crucial market gap to pioneering sustainability initiatives and expanding into new territories, the team reflects on a decade of steady growth built on integrity, service, and long-term vision.
Founded on the belief that flooring should be as thoughtfully designed as the spaces it inhabits, Office Solutions has evolved from a small startup into a regional player known for its consistency and client-first approach. With a portfolio spanning corporate, education, and healthcare sectors, the company’s success story is one of focus, trust, and a steadfast commitment to doing things right.

Starting with a Vision
In 2014, Dawood Ali Mirza co-founded Office Solutions to meet a very specific market need. “There were either premium products or low-quality ones,” he recalls. “I wanted to bring in mid-segment products that offered great design, quality, and pricing.”
What began as an idea to bridge the gap between affordability and design integrity has evolved into one of the UAE’s most respected flooring specialists. The company’s early vision, ‘to provide clients with solutions that balance value and aesthetics’, continues to guide its approach today.

Finding Focus
When Office Solutions first launched, the team considered catering to multiple interior segments, from furniture to lighting. But experience soon led to clarity. “Over time, we realised flooring was our strength,” Dawood explains. “We decided to focus entirely on that, and it paid off. For the past decade, we’ve concentrated on offices while exploring opportunities in education, hospitality, and healthcare.”
That focus has established the company’s identity. “Nine out of ten of our projects are office spaces,” Dawood adds. “But that doesn’t stop us from taking on schools or hospitals. Anywhere flooring goes, we go.”

Projects that Define Their Journey
Among their portfolio of standout projects, Dawood points to the flydubai Headquarters as a turning point. “The client had a very specific design in mind but a limited budget. We offered them a solution that delivered the design and quality they wanted while matching their pricing expectations. It became one of our biggest and most successful projects.”
Another key milestone came with the Odoo Software Company offices, where the team introduced raised-access flooring to a client who had initially been skeptical. “They approached us for one floor,” Dawood says. “We ended ended up doing six floors, about 14,000 square metres. Convincing them to switch from screed to raised flooring was a challenge, but it showed how the right advice and trust can transform a project.”
These experiences reflect a consistent principle: understanding client needs first, then tailoring design and materials to deliver practical, lasting outcomes.

Sustainability and Responsibility
For Office Solutions, sustainability has become far more than an industry buzzword. “Sustainability is something we take very seriously,” says Zalique Jayah, Senior Business Development Manager. “We work only with manufacturers who use eco-friendly materials and processes.”
The company is preparing to launch a take-back recycling program, a first of its kind in the UAE flooring sector. “Most manufacturers focus on pre-consumer recycling, using materials like discarded fishing nets to create carpet tiles,” Dawood explains. “We’re now working with a recycling partner in France to manage post-consumer recycling. It’s complex, because you have to collect, store, and ship old materials back to recycling yards but we’re committed to getting there.”
He adds, “We hope to one day take back the carpets we supplied five or six years ago and return them to the recycling loop. That’s the direction the industry must move in.”

A Culture of Collaboration
For Kimberley D’Souza, Business Development Executive, the secret to Office Solutions’ success lies in its people. “When the company started 12 years ago, it was just two people,” she says. “Today we’re a team of over 40, including sales, designers, project managers, and site engineers.”
What she values most is the spirit of support. “If I have an issue with my project, my manager will step in without hesitation. Everyone works together with the understanding that success comes from collaboration.”
That culture, she adds, is visible to clients too. “We tailor our service end-to-end. If a client comes with a design intent but a limited budget, we don’t say no, we help them find a solution. Our project managers even advise on which materials are best suited for each area. That level of involvement and transparency sets us apart.”
Zalique echoes the sentiment: “Clients often tell us we don’t just deliver products; we deliver peace of mind. They value how seamlessly we manage projects and maintain reliability throughout.”

Evolving with the Workplace
The way workplaces are designed has changed dramatically over the past decade, and Dawood has seen this transformation firsthand. “Back in the day, offices were just desks and partitions,” he says. “Now they’re about experience: well-being, air quality, sustainability. Designers are creating spaces that inspire creativity and comfort.”
To meet these evolving standards, Office Solutions ensures that all its products meet LEED certifications and support health-focused design strategies. “We supply products that are design-oriented and sustainability-driven,” Dawood notes. “That’s how we stay relevant in the modern workplace.”
Looking Ahead
“When people think of flooring, we want Office Solutions to be the first name that comes to mind.”
– Zalique Jayah
As the company approaches its second decade, expansion remains a key priority. “We’ve recently set up a full-time office in Riyadh,” Dawood shares. “The plan is to extend to Jeddah and Dammam by next year. Saudi Arabia is a growing market, and we want to be part of that evolution.”
The team also envisions the launch of retail flooring stores in the near future, giving clients easier access to products and design consultations. “Our goal,” Dawood says, “is to be the go-to choice for businesses seeking reliability, consistency, and quality in flooring.”
Zalique adds with conviction: “When people think of flooring, we want Office Solutions to be the first name that comes to mind.”
From its beginnings as a two-person venture to a 40-strong enterprise operating across the GCC, Office Solutions stands as proof that focus, collaboration, and commitment to service can turn a simple idea into a trusted brand. As they continue to innovate in sustainability and expand regionally, their journey reflects not just growth, but a clear dedication to better floors and spaces for all.
